This album is the counterpart to the previous album. They were recorded at the same time, and released the same day but should still be thought of as separate entities. Sirius B is sort of a darker half to Lemuria. The Blood Of Kingu is a great opening track, with cool vocals all around. Son Of The Sun is a very pretty track, mostly because of the female vocals. The Khlysti Evangelist has a weird intro, but once the song gets started it is fun and has a neat chorus.

Dark Venus Persephone is fairly nice, but is not too memorable. Kali Yuga, Pt. 1 is a bit subdued and atmospheric, with vocals that are heavy on the FX. Kali Yuga, Pt. 2 meanwhile is heavy and fast as hell, probably the heaviest track on the album. The Wondrous World Of Punt is a very laid back song, content to let itself build up its instruments and melodies. Melek Taus is very cool, but I don’t much care for the chorus.

Call Of Dagon is good, but just like Dark Venus Persephone it doesn’t set itself apart. Sirius B always surprised me as being the title track. It’s very somber and slow, sort of haunting. But again, it doesn’t stick with you. Voyage Of Gurdjeff (The Fourth Way) is very cool, it has a great vocal intro and then the remainder of the song is about the closest Therion has been to power metal. It’s done very well. In all, this is a good album but not as great as its counterpart.

Final Rating: 8.5/10
