Growing Storms is a great intro track. It starts with some wolf howls before getting into some really nice riffs and melodies. It transitions directly into A Pagan Storm which is a pretty cool track. I can’t entirely specify anything on it though. The Path is neat, I really like that for once you can clearly pick out the bass in a metal track. It also has a lot of cool guitar stuff going on. Midnight Gathering has a very folky intro, and again has some great guitar riffs and melodies and I love the clean vocals.

A Wolfchant From The Mountain Side also features the guitars as a highlight. The vocals and production are decent, it’s these guitars that keep me going. Guardians Of The Forest has a lot of cool stuff in it, including some acoustic guitars and again some good clean vocals. Winter Hymn is a pretty nice track. Stärkend Trunk Aus Feindes Schädel again has some neat riffs. Voran is a lot of fun as well, and I quite enjoy the guitar solo.

Feuerbringer (Loki’s Zankrede) isn’t too great, kind of a step down in quality. The Axe, The Sword, The Wind, And A Wolf is a decent ending track. Nothing much to say about it. This is an enjoyable album and there are some moments I really like, but the band really hadn’t hit their stride yet here.

Final Rating: 7.5/10
